Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System.
- Develop, implement, and manage controlled documentation including Work Instructions and Control Forms to ensure alignment with operational and quality standards.
- Develop and prepare regular performance reports and metrics for Quality Management Systems, assist other departments in establishing and mining databases to support quality and management objectives.
- Conduct internal audits in accordance with NADCAP and AS9100 standards audits under guidance of the Quality Manager.
- Oversee the calibration system to ensure compliance with measurement and equipment standards.
- Administer and maintain effective Nonconformance and Corrective Action program.
- Provide Quality Engineering support to Operations.
- Develop and prepare quality planning documentation including but not limited to PPAP, FMEA, FAI and Risk Assessments.
- Collaborate with the Materials team to manage and enhance Supplier Quality processes
- Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and purchase orders to define quality requirements and assess associated risks.
- Provide backup role for both the quality manager and quality technician.
- Promote and reinforce a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Participate in Lean activities and Continuous Improvement activities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Education – Technical high school or Associates Degree, Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.
- Experience – 5-10 years quality experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform general shop math.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma (statistical) concepts.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Computer literate. Advanced use of Microsoft Office and ERP (Epicor) software preferred.
- Must be motivated to work effectively without direct supervision.
- Ability to document processes into work instructions.
- Ability to program and operate computerized inspection equipment.
- Capable of achieving ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
