Overview
We are hiring a hands-on QA Manager to run and continuously improve our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) while ensuring compliance with customer and contractual quality requirements. This role owns internal/external audits, corrective action, document/record control, and daily quality execution on the shop floor. You will also lead AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIs) and support customer source inspection and audit activities as required.
- Own and maintain the ISO 9001:2015 QMS: document control, records management, process governance, and continuous improvement.
- Plan, schedule, lead, and report internal audits; drive findings to closure with verified effectiveness.
- Serve as a primary interface for registrar and customer audits, coordinate audit readiness and responses.
- Be a daily presence on the production floor—coach teams, verify conformance, identify risk early, and resolve issues in real time.
- Lead nonconformance management and CAPA: containment, root cause, corrective action, verification, and prevention of recurrence.
- Translate contract/PO quality requirements into execution plans; ensure flow down of applicable requirements to suppliers/subcontractors.
- Own AS9102 First Article Inspections (full and partial/delta): build and approve compliant FAI packages and maintain FAI records.
- Ensure FAI packages include required elements (e.g., Forms 1–3, ballooned drawings/specs, characteristic traceability, planning/traveler evidence, material/special process certs, and supporting inspection/test reports).
- Partner cross-functional (Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain) to strengthen controls, improve yield, and reduce cost of quality.
- Support training and awareness so teams understand and consistently follow QMS and customer requirements.- 5+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ownership of an ISO 9001-based QMS, including audits, document/record control, and CAPA systems.
- Hands-on, shop-floor leadership style; able to work directly with production teams to verify execution and drive improvements.
- Proven ability to perform and approve AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIs), including characteristic traceability and ballooning packages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present quality performance, audit results, and improvement plans to leadership and customers.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor and/or Lead Auditor training/certification.
- Experience interpreting and implementing aerospace/defense customer flow downs and supplier quality requirements.
- ASQ certifications (e.g., CMQ/OE, CQA, CQE) or equivalent training/experience.
- Experience with digital QMS tools (e.g., SharePoint-based document control and workflows).

Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 annually.
Compensation may exceed this range for candidates with exceptional experience or specialized qualifications.
We are currently located in Bend, OR and will be relocating to a brand new facility in Prineville, OR ~ September.
