The Smart Meter Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that all employees on the Smart Meter Project have completed all company & utility required trainings, have achieved the required field and data capture proficiencies to be successful in the field.
- Responsible for ensuring the Smart Meter Project achieves or exceeds its fiscal goals
- Identifies opportunities to reduce costs through increased efficiencies or process changes that positively impact our financial performance
- Manage the project to maximize productivity through effective utilization of labor and equipment by identifying our key metrics and managing the project to achieve these metrics
- Utilize all the tools available to ensure that the project succeeds
- Develop a strong relationship with the project team
- Acts as the main contact for the customer and ensure that we maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction with our performance
- Coordinate with the President, Director of Business Development & Key Account Management, & the Field Operations Manager to ensure that this Team is immediately aware of all challenges or areas for improvement as well as opportunities for future partnering with the customer
- Conduct assessments that measure conformity to established standards
- Oversee the business line daily tailboard meetings process and addressing safety and quality concerns
- Delivers feedback of audit results and trends to the President
- Find and address customer concerns and relay them to field operations leadership
- Performs root cause analysis on meter-based events, safety incidents, and nonconformances.
- Tracks and manages corrective action plans.
- Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies
- Perform classroom training as required
- Implement safety policies and develop procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Coordinate with Corporate Safety Manager to support the development of crisis action plans, safety plans, and 5S initiatives.
- Analyzes audits on Safety and Quality
- Reviews accident investigations, data analysis, and reoccurrence prevention program
- Coordinate with Corporate Training Manager as the field operations SME and to deliver classroom training as needed
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Develop and deliver training content
- Willingness to work in field services

- Ability to lift 25 pounds and walk up to 5 miles a day
- College Degree or equivalent field experience in Utility field operations, preferably smart meter projects
- Ability to influence others
- Aptitude to provide feedback
- Skilled at time management and working autonomously
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Must be able to wear PPE as required
- Excellent PC skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with data collection and data analysis
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is a plus
- OSHA 30
- Knowledge of Human Performance
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and lean operations
