Summary:
The Project Controls Cost Analyst role is a very detail-oriented and organized position, with a focus on the billing and financial tracking mechanisms in our software program to support our project teams. This role plays a vital part in the financial health of our projects by ensuring accurate invoicing, monitoring budgets and costs, and supporting overall project control functions. The ideal candidate is experienced in project-based billing, financial reporting, and cross-functional coordination with operations, accounting, and project management teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Track and update billing schedules and ensure compliance with customer invoicing requirements.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project forecasts and cost control reports.
- Track project budgets, expenditures, and committed costs to ensure financial accuracy within the project.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPI's), including earned value, cost performance, and schedule adherence.
- Support change management processes by tracking changes in scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate with accounting to ensure accurate revenue recognition and cash flow forecasting.
- Assist in preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders, including cost reports, variance analyses, and project status summaries.
- Maintain organized project records and documentation related to billing, budgeting, and compliance.
- Support audits and internal reviews by providing relevant financial and project data.
- Collaborate with project teams, finance, procurement, and clients to ensure smooth execution of project control processes and accurate billing.
- Assist in project setup and maintenance, including set up of the WBS and budgeted costs.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Possess excellent communication skills to interface effectively, both internally and externally.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Acumatica ERP is a plus, but not required.
- Willingness to learn and operate client provided programs and systems.
- Reasoning Development: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and properly identify issues requiring immediate attention from those that are less urgent.
- Ability to examine information, facts, and data, and draw logical conclusions from available information. Perform well under pressure and act prudently concerning the safety of others.
- Bachelor's degree in business/accounting/construction management is preferred, but not required.
- 7+ years of professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.- Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move between workstations throughout the day.
- Work is primarily in an office setting.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple requests simultaneously.
