The Process Area Manager(s) are responsible for directing the activities of the Operations Shift Supervisors in the operation of the cascade, feed and withdrawal, gas test, and plant utilities processes in the Lead Cascade Facility, and the American Centrifuge Plant. This includes activities such as ensuring the safe operation of the uranium hexafluoride (UF 6 ) processes; proper receipt, storage, handling, and on-site transportation of UF 6 ; machine installation and pump down; and integrated system testing.
- Responsible for developing and staffing the organization for the operation of the assigned areas
- Responsible for compliance with the Licenses for the Lead Cascade Facility and the American Centrifuge Plant
- Responsible for the management, planning and oversight of the operational activities for the assigned areas
- Responsible for the assembly, installation, start-up, operation and select repair of the centrifuge machines and/ or other process equipment in assigned areas
- Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the uranium Hexafluoride (UF 6 ) processes, proper receipt, storage, and handling of the uranium material
- Responsible for integrated planning and scheduling of all work activities within assigned areas
- Responsible for the performance testing for the Integrated System Test Plan (ISTP) for the assigned area
- Responsible for the development of procedures and training material required for the operation of the assigned area
- In the absence of the Operations Manager, this individual may be delegated the responsibilities of the Operations Manager
- Performs Change Evaluations and reviews as needed
- Adheres to company policies, procedures, code of conduct, security and environmental and safety program
- Ensures the workforce includes and is conducive to the participation of individuals with diverse ethnic backgrounds, both genders, including those with and without disabilities
Has the authority to propose, develop and/or implement new procedures or revise existing procedures as necessary to fulfill mission objectives within the License
The Process Area Manager has the authority to stop work and/or shut down operations in any part of the operation for which he/she has responsibility. If such authority is exercised, the Process Area Manager must concur with restart of shutdown operations.
This position is accountable for the safety of all authorized plant activities performed by Operations personnel within assigned area. This position requires familiarity with, and adherence to, the requirements of the plant safety and health program (Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Radiation Protection, Safety Analysis, Nuclear Criticality Safety, and OSHA Programs) to ensure the protection of employees and the public from the effects of accidents involving radiological, chemical, electrical, or other physical hazards associated with plant activities.
This position has the authority to provide leadership, planning and direction for activities necessary to conduct business to meet regulatory requirements and to support corporate mission.
Develops department budget and is responsible for spending on resources, materials and expenses and taking appropriate actions as required.
Broad latitude to manage direct and indirect reports in a manner determined necessary to met corporate goals and milestones.
Incumbent has responsibility and authority to recommend changes in employment status including but not limited to hiring, discipline, promotion and termination for persons working under their direction.

We'd Love to Hear From Candidates With:
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance.
- High School diploma or satisfactory completion of the General Educational Development test.
- Three (3) years of industrial/chemical/nuclear plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or support experience.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physical Science

This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
