Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated

Safety Trainer

with a minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching adult learners. This is a specialized training role focused on delivering effective safety education and ensuring adult employees understand and apply safety practices. The position is centered on instructional excellence and adult learning principles rather than safety supervision or enforcement.

Responsibilities

- Develop, prepare, and deliver safety training programs tailored to adult learners.

- Facilitate classroom and/or virtual training sessions using engaging instructional techniques.

- Assess trainee understanding and provide constructive feedback to reinforce learning.

- Maintain accurate training records and documentation.

- Collaborate with safety and operational teams to ensure training materials are current and compliant with regulations.

- Continuously improve training content based on feedback and industry best practices.

- Support a positive learning environment that encourages participation and knowledge retention.

- Stay informed about latest safety standards and instructional methods to enhance training effectiveness.

Skills And Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching adults, preferably in safety or related technical fields.

- Strong understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design principles.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt teaching styles to meet learner needs.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

- Proficient with training delivery tools and technology (e.g., PowerPoint, LMS platforms).

- Passionate about promoting safety culture through education.

- Not a supervisory or enforcement role; focus is on training and education.

Job Details

Location: Anchorage, AK (local not required, but must be able to get to Anchorage on your own)

Pay: $50-$75/hr (1099)
