The Prism Data Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Operations and Reliability teams through the collection and presentation of data to enhance operational efficiency. This role drives value through informed recommendations and strategic advice to stakeholders, leveraging engineering modeling to support continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, it facilitates remote operation services and systematically evaluates performance using key performance indicators, minimizing non-productive time and delivering optimized solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers. Schedule: 12-hour shift work, 14 days on, 7 days off.
- Assist the USA Drilling Optimization Manager with organization of data deliverables periodically provided to our clients throughout the drilling process on their projects.
- Maintain positive lines of communication between the well site personnel and the Prism Optimization Center.
- Collaborate with the Operations group to ensure field personnel and operations management have the necessary data to track performance, including real-time data and modeling for critical speed, torque and drag, hydraulics, and other required metrics.
- Provide guidance for operations on specific workflows and key performance indicators, for operations prioritized by MWD and Directional coordinators.
- Support identification and communication of best practices, documentation of standard practices, and tech alerts.
- Consolidate data from various online sources, structure it into the required presentation formats, and ensure quality verification while meeting client requirements and delivery deadlines.
- Ensure daily / shift reports are accurately completed and submitted on time.
- Ensure all identified issues and developing issues are accurately evaluated and communicated to the various stakeholders through established communications channels prior to the completion of each tour.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement new operations policies, workflows, and technical alerts as needed.
- Assist with development, communication and enforcement of safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency with all daily and end of well reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with the Reliability department to ensure relevant data is accessible for effective incident management.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Communications departments to provide accurate, valuable data for customer presentations. Support other departments with various projects and deliverables as required.
- Assist other departments with various projects when time permits.
- Perform all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in the Employee and Corporate HSE Handbooks.
- Perform duties according to the Company’s quality system procedures and work instructions.
This candidate will have a bachelor’s degree/ technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or Geoscience & a minimum of 2 years relevant field experience, preferably with M/LWD, Directional Drilling, Mud Logging, or Well Construction. They will be highly organized with superior communication and experience with MS Office. Technical knowledge in one or more real-time display/engineering programs is a must.
