The Power Market Associate/Sr. Associate will support Repsol’s short-term portfolio for ERCOT and future ISOs/RTOs markets, load forecasts, protocols for daily position reporting and management.
The position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
- Support Repsol’s operating portfolio with scheduling and dispatching activities inside ISOs/RTOs (mainly ERCOT).
- Team up to design creative hedging and optimization strategies for Repsol’s portfolio in ERCOT Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets, as well as in other ISOs/RTOs.
- Execute the acquisition of Congestion Revenue Rights (CRRs) thru auctions and trades.
- Own the reporting procedures on market fundamentals, portfolio positions, profit & loss, and gross margin impact for Senior Management and other areas of the company.
- Constantly develop the skill and knowledge of ERCOT procedures and business functions related to the CRR program and other ERCOT operations.
- Analyze and create new solutions for data acquisition and reporting.
- Develop strong working relationships with other internal departments and external service providers.
- Perform analysis and programming thru different tools (Excel, Visual Basic, Matlab/R/Python).
- Must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis, for anyone other than current employer.
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields like Economics, Math, Finance, Engineering or Computer Science.
- 2-4 years previous experience in the North America Power markets, operations, or scheduling/dispatching.
- Must be self-motivated and be capable of setting and executing strategy to accomplish given goals.
- The ability to juggle multiple projects and stay organized without heavy oversight.
