We are seeking an Operator to join our dynamic team at AMD Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our manufacturing process, contributing to the production of high-quality underground mining equipment and supporting our mission to exceed customer expectations.
As a Plasma Table Operator, you’ll operate and maintain CNC plasma cutting tables to produce high-quality metal components. Your role is critical to ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our fabrication process. Daily responsibilities include:
- Operating CNC plasma cutting tables (e.g., Hypertherm or similar) to cut steel, and other metals per specifications.
- Loading and unloading materials, setting up workpieces, and adjusting machine settings for optimal cuts.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders to ensure precise cuts and measurements.
- Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plasma table equipment to minimize downtime.
- Inspecting finished cuts for quality, ensuring compliance with tolerances and AMD’s high standards.
- Collaborating with fabricators and welders to streamline production and meet project deadlines.
- Maintaining a clean, safe work area, adhering to OSHA safety protocols and using provided PPE.
- General shop cleaning, assist with shipping/receiving/loading when not on the table.
- Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods (6-8 hours), and work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and fumesThis role offers a mix of technical precision and hands-on work, with opportunities to master advanced CNC systems and contribute to custom projects.
Proven experience as an Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CNC programming and operation of CNC machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in welding and machining techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings effectively.
- Familiarity with quality inspection processes and tools.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
