Outside Sales Associate for South Texas – High Voltage Division

Texas Meter & Device is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our High Voltage Division. This role will focus efforts within the South Texas sales territory covering the San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Corpus Christi regions which includes areas in West Texas also (ie: Marfa). The position will rely on networking, travel and expertise to meet growth objectives through our existing accounts and prospective customers. Candidates must be highly motivated self-starters with an ability to effectively manage accounts, create consistent satisfaction and achieve profitable targets.
TMD offers a generous base salary plus a bonus opportunity as part of a total compensation plan that also includes an expense allowance and a company vehicle. Pay is negotiable depending on experience, especially within the industry.

- Develops new business, builds on existing relationships and utilizes internal company leads to achieve profitable sales targets within the assigned territory
- Travels extensively throughout an assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders. Additional travel may include educational and sales demos, industry seminars and industry networking opportunities
- Conducts calls and sets face to face meetings with customers on a daily basis
- Works closely with TMD’s Inside Sales and Customer Service team members to execute orders for both service and distribution
- Mitigates concerns from customers and creates solutions for customer’s experience related to service and products
- Creates verbal and written estimates for customers outlining a Service Level Agreement. This typically includes Price, Availability, Lead Time, Delivery, Payment Terms and Service Requirements
- Develops relationships with key vendors in assigned utility, industrial and electrical markets
- Develops strategic sales plan by account and for the territory· 5+ years outside sales experience selling tools, safety and services to the utility and
· 5+ years working as a Lineman, M&C Coordinator or Tool Manager in the Utility Industry
· BS/BA in business administration or relevant field
· Knowledge of utility tools, safety equipment, testing and certification
· Candidate will have strong verbal and written communicating skills
· Candidate will be able to demonstrate a history of setting and exceeding sales goals
· Candidate will be able to demonstrate ability to communicate, present and influence key
· Experience utilizing an ERP system with an ability to extract and summarize information
· Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite to enhance ability to manage accounts and
· Ideal candidate will be located in the San Antonio, Austin, or Houston area
· Additional Requirements: Background check clearance including drug screening and I-9
· Must have a valid driver’s license with excellent driving record and must be 21 years of age or older due to insurance requirements
