Qcells is seeking a Operation Specialist to support the Business Planning and Finance team of Axia, a leading residential solar provider. In this role, you will oversee commission calculation processing and drive core operational and analytical processes that support Axia’s business objectives.
Your primary responsibilities include analyzing revenue and cost data to develop accurate gross profit forecasts, providing actionable insights to leadership, and supporting cross-functional teams in improving key financial metrics. You will also partner with business stakeholders to streamline processes, enhance data accuracy, and ensure scalability as the business grows.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious, with a proven ability to interpret data and uncover the story behind the numbers.
This position is based in Irvine, CA or San Francisco, CA, and requires up to 20% travel as needed.
- Play a key role in the monthly financial close process by analyzing variances and delivering clear, actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Investigate financial trends to identify risks, opportunities, and performance drivers, supporting accurate forecasting and decision-making.
- Improve data management, financial models, and forecasting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency across the business.
- Build and maintain analytical tools, including automated dashboards and self-service reporting, to empower teams with real-time insights.
- Contribute to key finance initiatives focused on process optimization, reporting enhancements, and continuous improvement
- Track and monitor the progress of rooftop solar installation projects, summarizing key milestones and completion status.
- Apply company pricing policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
- Calculate and process detailed commission payments for sales partners with precision and consistency.
- Validate sales data against contracts and CRM records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide sales partners with clear, detailed commission reports and payment updates.
- Communicate effectively with external partners to explain commission calculations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with Finance and Sales leadership to ensure timely, accurate, and transparent commission payouts.
- Review customer contracts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and standards.
- Verify contract terms; including pricing, incentives, and timelines against internal guidelines.
- Identify and flag discrepancies or potential risks for management review and resolution.
- Contribute to automation initiatives that enhance reporting and commission-tracking efficiency.
- Collaborate with Sales teams to clarify contract details and quickly resolve any issues.
- Partner with Finance to reconcile payments, commission accruals, and related documentation.
- Clearly communicate findings, discrepancies, and updates to stakeholders across departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or related field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, or Engineering).
- 3-5 years of professional experience, including 1–3 years in business analysis or financial planning.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated professional with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to becoming an expert in assigned areas.
- Fast learner with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.- 1+ years of experience in statistical model development or data modeling. - 2+ years of experience in business analysis, financial planning, or related analytical roles.
- Proven track record of contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhanced financial modeling or data analysis efficiency.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with tools such as Oracle, Tableau, Salesforce, or SQL.- Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.
- Genuine enthusiasm for the renewable energy and solar industry.
