Suncor is seeking an Operational Excellence Enablement Advisor to play a pivotal role in bridging our Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) processes and best practices with the supporting software tools used across the organization. In this role, you will ensure that software implementations, upgrades, and ongoing system usage are fully aligned with OEMS processes and user needs. You will drive feedback-driven improvements, conduct process and tool conformance assessments, and help enable a culture of operational excellence through digital solutions.

- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Applied Science or equivalent
- 5-8 years of experience working in a technical, operations, maintenance or business analysis role, preferably within the oil and gas industry or a similar complex operational environment
- Demonstrated experience in capturing and documenting business requirements for technology projects
- Strong understanding of business case development and financial justification principles
- Ability to balance innovation and risk
- Foundational knowledge of software systems e.g. GE APM, MS SQL, MS Power Platform, SAP
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues into manageable components
- Understands complexity of implementing change at multiple locations/sites and can outline an effective technology change management plan
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to facilitate discussions and workshops to gather information and build consensus
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and concepts
- Site Operations, Maintenance, Reliability or Asset Management experience considered an asset
- Work with Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) Process Leads and key site personnel to identify improvement opportunities related to the implementation of OEMS Standards & Best Practices
- Facilitate and collaboration between technical groups and sites personnel to identify and scope improvement opportunities
- Analyze operational workflows and challenges at various sites to understand their specific needs and identify areas for technology intervention
- With support of technology Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Technical Authorities, elicit, document, and translate business needs and functional requirements into clear and concise specifications for technology solutions
- Makes independent decisions required in planning, organizing and completing assignments.
- Break down broad improvement ideas into well-defined project components with clear objectives and deliverables
- Develop comprehensive business cases for proposed technology projects, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and potential return on investment
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Contribute to the development of project plans and timelines
- Lead / support communication and change management efforts related to the deployment of new technologies at the sites
- Presents original ideas and viewpoints - regularly demonstrates innovative thinking and solutions
- Can manage small to medium sized projects independently
- Support the development of technology product roadmaps to meet business capability needs
- This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- Occasional travel may be required
