NOTE: Please send a personal, thoughtful email addressed to Chelsea at info@georgerings.com to explain your interest in George Rings and your suitability for this position. We will not consider applicants who do not email us personally.
George Rings is an artisan fine jewelry brand that specializes in making warm, weighty, solid 18K gold rings, pendants, bracelets, and earrings, using the lost-wax casting method. We design and make all of our pieces by hand in our private workshop. We are a U.S.-based, direct-to-consumer, privately held company that engages with our collectors online at georgerings.com, in person in our New York City showroom, and via collaborations and retail pop-ups.
At George Rings, extraordinary quality and intelligent creation are at the core of everything we do. We believe that jewelry should be made to last, should feel as good as it looks, and — like all human beings — will increase in beauty with age and the marks of a life well lived. Our growing community of avid collectors seek to honor themselves with jewelry that prioritizes private pleasure over status or possession.
We recently opened a by-appointment studio in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City, and we are looking for a studio manager who can support our culture of exceptional client care. Our NY studio is our only physical location, and our clients come from all over the country (and world) to experience the heft and softness of our jewelry. We treasure these visits and consider them a vital aspect of building our community and the George brand story. Often the relationship with the client begins months (sometimes years) prior to the studio visit, and extends for months (and years) beyond it. We are looking for an individual who finds joy in connecting with our clients at all points of their George Rings journey, and who wants to thoughtfully support their experience.
- High EQ - ability to listen, engage, pick up on social cues, and skillfully discern what is needed
- Excellent writing skills - the majority of client communication is done by email
- Excellent organizational skills - calendar management, inventory management, physical space management, time management
- Resourcefulness - as we are still in the early stages of building the brand and our teams, we are looking for individuals who have an innate sense of what needs to be done and who find fulfillment in being trusted to use their own good judgment
- Good boundaries - ability to kindly say “no” to clients (when necessary) in a way that maintains the dignity of the client and respects the needs and/or policies of George Rings
- Confidence
- Understated style, artistic sensibilities, and an appreciation for simplicity
- Trustworthiness - you will be handling the world’s most precious material (gold) and supporting/connecting with the world’s most precious resource (humans)
