Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Mobile Welder to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 7/7 rotation.
Foran Mining is a modern mining development and exploration company advancing Canada's only greenfield copper project currently under construction: the McIlvenna Bay deposit in Saskatchewan. With commercial production expected in mid-2026, this world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy. At Foran, we are committed to sustainable development, environmental protection, and building strong communities. We believe in empowering our people, fostering a culture of growth, and creating opportunities for meaningful careers as we build the mines of the future.
As part of the Maintenance Team, the Mobile Welder will support the safe and efficient operation of our mining operations by performing welding and fabrication work on various equipment, ranging from light service vehicles to heavy-duty machinery. Your work will involve the construction of new structures, as well as repairs, modifications, and maintenance of existing infrastructure and equipment. This is a mobile role, requiring the ability to travel across the site to provide on-the-spot repairs and support.

- Fabricate and build new structures, components, or equipment.
- Modify and repair equipment to meet operational or safety needs.
- Inspect equipment for damage or wear and recommend repairs.
- Ensure all welding meets safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with mechanics, electricians, and maintenance staff to coordinate repairs and minimize downtime.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and emergencies to reduce production delays.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
- Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and mine safety regulations.
- Keep the mobile welding unit clean, organized, and fully equipped.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in welding or fabrication (e.g., CWB, AWS) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Journeyperson Welder Certification or equivalent (Red Seal preferred).
- Valid driver's license; ability to operate site vehicles.
- Proven experience as a welder, ideally in a mining or heavy industrial setting.
- Experience working with various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of metallurgy and welding materials.
- Proficiency in using power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Competitive Hourly Rate: $48.90/hr with an additional 10% annual bonus
- 100% Employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Long-term disability Insurance
- RSP with company match
Foran is committed to building a skilled and diverse workforce as we move into our next phase of growth. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to self-declare when submitting applications and resumes. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, you must be legally able to work in Canada.
The McIlvenna Bay Project site is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position and the remote work environment, candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as a condition of employment.
