Miner 2 – Shotcrete Operator – 2025-100

We are currently seeking experienced individuals for our Miner 2 – Shotcrete Operator position to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working either a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation.

As part of the Underground Operations Team, the Miner 2 will be responsible for applying shotcrete, a type of concrete, onto surfaces using a spraying process. Shotcrete is used to reinforce and stabilize structures, such as tunnel linings, retaining walls, and rock surfaces.

- Prepare shotcrete mix with precise ratios of cement, aggregates, water, and additives.
- Monitor and adjust mixture consistency and quality.
- Operate shotcrete spraying equipment, including pumps and nozzles.
- Apply shotcrete evenly, ensuring proper thickness and adhesion.
- Control spraying for optimal finish, texture, and structural integrity.
- Perform quality checks on application and surface finish.
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to meet specifications.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Maintain and inspect shotcrete equipment regularly.
- Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Report challenges or issues to supervisors.
- Keep accurate records of application details and quality checks.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and safety standards.
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in an Underground Mine Environment.
- 1+ years experience as a shotcrete operator or in concrete application is preferred.- Knowledge of shotcrete materials, equipment, and techniques.
- Understanding of concrete mix design and performance factors.
- Skilled in operating shotcrete equipment.
- Ability to obtain a Blasting certification or license, in accordance with local and national regulations.
- Strong attention to detail for finish and thickness.
- Team player with clear communication skills.
- Physically fit for standing, lifting, and all-weather work.
- Ability to meet qualifications for a blasting ticket and any required security clearances.
- Competitive Hourly Rate: $46.59 - $62.46/hr which includes a target-based monthly bonus
