Position Summary:

Stainless Steel Midwest has immediate openings for Metal Sorters to efficiently sort, classify and organize pieces of metal by type and/or size. We will train the right person. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.

Responsibilities:

- Adherence with company safety and environmental standards

- Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized material

- Use appropriate equipment (manual or motorized)

- Organize warehouse as needed

- Other warehouse duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Extremely detail oriented

- Ability to do basic math calculations

- Ability to clearly communicate in English or Spanish

- At least 18 years of age

Physical Requirements to Perform Job Functions:

- Good vision

- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, hear audible warning signals, walk and stand on uneven surfaces, lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Operating and moving various equipment may require dexterity to push, pull, climb, bend, twist, turn, reach, etc.

- Personal protective equipment is required (and provided) given multiple hazards typical of scrap yards

- Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform duties

- Metal Sorters are subject to the environmental conditions of working mainly in an open warehouse
