This position involves knowledge of reciprocating engines, reciprocating gas compressors, and auxiliary equipment. Mechanics will be assigned to crews that will assemble various natural gas compressor packages while exceeding the highest quality and safety standards. Activities will be directed and coordinated by Supervisors and Team Leads and be in accordance with company policies and procedures, customer work orders and service agreements as well as all relevant OSHA and governmental regulations. This position involves physical labor at the shop facility and on occasion may require work at customer locations.
- Perform general assembly of natural gas reciprocating compressor packages and components
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering information, or sample parts to determine product dimensions and tolerances as well as best method needed to fabricate assemblies
- Test, perform troubleshooting, and repair equipment once assembled
- Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, wearing PPE and following safety procedures
- Observe and follow company health, safety and environmental (HSE) procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as deemed necessary by management
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years minimum experience in technical training in mechanical and/or electrical systems a plus
- Forklift certification (Company provided if not already obtained)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Must exhibit a high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
