Description
If you love the chaos
beforeit becomes chaos, and you’re the kind of person who can look at a messy material flow and instantly see the fix, this role is your playground.
We’re looking for a
Material Flow Supervisorwho can own the movement of materials from the dock to the production line with zero drama and maximum precision. You’ll lead our warehouse/materials crew, keep inventory tight, and make sure Production never has to wonder where their parts are.
What You’ll Own
- Lead, coach, and develop the warehouse/material flow team. Set the bar high and hold the team to it.
- Assign daily work, keep pace and accuracy where they need to be, and make safety non-negotiable.
- Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance conversations.
- Oversee receiving, put-away, staging, replenishment, and every internal material movement.
- Make sure materials hit the line on time, in the right quantities, and in usable condition.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, compliant, and ready for audits at any moment.
- Run cycle counts, reconcile the weird stuff, and drive corrective actions that actually stick.
- Ensure ERP transactions are clean, timely, and accurate.
- Track material risks and shortages like a hawk, and escalate before anyone else sees the problem.
- Work tightly with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to solve issues fast.
- Communicate material flow status clearly and honestly, especially when there’s impact to the schedule.
- Standardize and continuously improve our material handling, labeling, routing, and replenishment processes.
- 2–3 years leading a materials/warehouse/logistics team.
- 3–5 years in shipping/receiving, inventory control, scheduling, or logistics.
- Hands-on manufacturing experience, bonus if you’ve lived in a high-mix/low-volume world.
- Forklift certification (or the ability to get one immediately).
- Strong grasp of inventory control, FIFO, cycle counting, and material flow basics that aren’t basic.
- Comfortable in an ERP, disciplined about data integrity.
- Solid communicator, problem-solver, and calm operator under pressure.
- Organized, detail-oriented, able to juggle competing priorities without losing the thread.
- Familiarity with Lean, 5S, and standard work.
- Manufacturing/warehouse setting. Lots of standing, walking, and material handling.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. with or without assistance.
