The Dayton Forging & Heat Treating Company is searching for a self-starting individual to come join our family owned and operated team of 30+ employees. Started in 1919, we provide custom forgings, bar stock, heat treating and rough machining.
Machinists wanted to run manual engine lathes, horizontal and vertical turret lathes. Job entails rough turning and/or drilling/boring parts to a typical 1/16" tolerance, use of overhead cranes to load parts, machine lubrication, cleaning and basic maintenance/upkeep. It is a job shop environment with few repeat parts, and machinists are expected to operate different machines depending on the workload. Print reading and use of measuring tools (tape measures, micrometers, calipers, radius gauges, and pi tapes) are necessary skills. Experience preferred, but on the job training available.
This position is a second shift position, hours of 2:30pm to 11:00pm.
