Job Summary
Responsible for all quality assurance functions for the
Hot Strip Rolling and Picklingfacilities including supervising the Quality Assurance Leads, Supervisors and Quality Investigators. This position reports to
Director - Quality Assurance.This is an existing vacancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all quality related functions
- Ensure proper disposition of product produced
- Plans, coordinates and directs quality assurance and laboratory activities
- Directs the evaluation, selection, assignment and development of staff
- Ensures compliance to all quality assurance standards
- Develops, implements, and communicates a short- and long-term strategy regarding laboratory standards, techniques, and technology
- Provide technical leadership to continuous improvement activities
- Ensure quality assurance of customer orders and leads corrective actions to minimize recurrences
- Oversee quality aspect of order entry and new product referrals
- Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a closely related field
- At least seven years of experience in steel manufacturing which demonstrates technical expertise in programming, analysis, and interpretation of analytical data by various instrumental methods
- At least three years of Quality Assurance experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
