JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Benefits & Well-Being oversees the development, implementation and administration of employee benefits and wellness programs. Ensures all offerings are fully compliant with federal, state and local regulations, while aligning with the organization’s broader goals. Leads initiatives promoting employee well-being, fostering a culture of health and enhancing the overall employee experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer and Oversee Benefits Programs
: Leads the daily operations of group benefits programs—including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability and retirement plans—ensuring seamless delivery and employee satisfaction.
Develop and Implement Wellness Initiatives
: Designs and
implements
wellness programs to actively promote healthy lifestyles, boost engagement and improve overall employee well-being.
Compliance and Reporting
: Ensures full compliance with federal, state and local regulations, including Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements; prepares and submits all necessary documentation and reports with accuracy and timeliness.
Audit and Evaluation
: Conducts regular audits to verify compliance and uncover opportunities for improvement; evaluates program effectiveness and recommends enhancements to better serve employee needs.
Employee Communication and Support
: Provides expert guidance and responsive support to employees on benefits and wellness offerings; creates and distributes clear, engaging communication materials to educate and inform.
Vendor Management
: Manages and strengthens relationships with benefits vendors and brokers; monitors service delivery to ensure alignment with contractual expectations and employee needs.
Open Enrollment
: Plans and executes the annual open enrollment process with precision; develops and delivers communication strategies to empower employees to make informed choices.
Budget Management
: Develops and oversees the benefits budget; tracks expenses and identifies cost-saving opportunities without compromising program quality.
Retirement Benefit Board Support
: Supports Retirement Benefit Board activities, including preparing meeting materials, ensuring governance requirements and research and analysis to inform board decision making.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Communications or related field or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
Advanced training, education and/or certification is desired.
Minimum of seven (7) years of HR management experience in benefits.
Experience using Oracle HR/Benefits Administration preferred.
Solid understanding of all regulatory law governing employee benefit programs
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, documentation and time management skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Primary work location is Novi, MI as required.
