The CNC Maintenance Technician – Robotics & Automation is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving robotic automation across CNC manufacturing operations. This role focuses heavily on robotic programming, robotic cell setup, integration, and troubleshooting of automated systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC equipment (mills, lathes, routers, grinders, etc.).
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair machine tool components such as spindles, linear guides, ball screws, servo motors, drives, and HMIs.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, service manuals, and machine prints.
- Perform machine alignments, calibrations, and geometric accuracy checks.
- Develop, modify, and optimize robot programs.
- Configure robotic communication with CNC machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Integrate sensors, vision systems, PLCs, and safety devices into robotic cells.
- Troubleshoot robot paths, I/O signals, communication faults, and cycle-time issues.
- Participate in mechanical and electrical setup of new robotic cells.
- Configure end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and ensure proper part handling.
- Set up safety fencing, scanners, light curtains, and interlocks according to regulations.
- Perform test runs and validate cell functionality prior to production hand-off.
- Support production teams with changeovers, new job setups, and operational training.

- Applicant must possess a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
