Machinists are responsible for operating and maintaining machine tools, setting up equipment, and ensuring that parts meet specified standards. They must have a strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and the ability to read and interpret technical documents. Machinists should also possess excellent attention to detail, proficiency in CAD/CAM software, and the ability to work under pressure.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed drawings
Set up, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools
Check products for quality and accuracy, and detect defects or malfunctions
Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: *Haas, Okuma and Fanuc Controls experience
- G code and M code experience
- CAD/CAM and/or Surf-CAM experience
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Read micrometers, calipers and tape measure
- Tool and die experience preferred
- Experience using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
