Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Machine Shop Helper / Machinist and become an essential part of creating precision-engineered components. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment, support skilled machinists, and develop your expertise in manufacturing processes. Whether you're just starting out or have some experience, this position provides a platform for growth, skill development, and hands-on involvement with cutting-edge tools and techniques.
- Assist machinists with setting up and operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, primarily using Fanuc controls.
- Support the preparation of tooling, fixtures, and raw materials for machining operations, ensuring proper alignment and safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise fabrication of parts.
- Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Perform basic maintenance on machining equipment, including cleaning tools and checking for wear or damage.
- Assist in material handling using hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other equipment to move raw materials or finished parts safely around the shop floor.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing practices and plastics injection molding processes to optimize efficiency.
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an understanding of manufacturing principles and machining processes.
- Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings;
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, tooling setups,
- Strong math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments.
