The Assembly Machine Operator is responsible for operating a variety of manual, pneumatic, and mechanical machines to assemble or shape components by crimping, forming, staking, pressing, measuring, or similar operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring part quality, production efficiency, and workplace organization through adherence to 5S standards and continuous improvement practices.
- Retrieve products from storage lanes and prepare materials for production as directed by the Production Lead.
- Move, dump, and prepare totes of up to 50 lbs. for processing.
- Operate machines to complete individual production cycles.
- Visually inspect parts for defects and compliance with quality standards.
- Complete all required production documentation, charts, and reports.
- Maintain general housekeeping and follow 5S standards within the work area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- One to three months of related experience or training in a manufacturing setting is desirable.
- Ability to use basic shop measurement tools including gauges, comparators, calipers, and micrometers.
- Proficient in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email systems.
- Familiarity with manufacturing ERP systems (e.g., PLEX) preferred.
- Understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles and willingness to apply them.
- Regular and consistent attendance is essential.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple instructions and documentation.
- Clear written and verbal communication in individual or small group settings.
- Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Common-sense problem-solving and ability to handle routine standardized tasks.
- Demonstrated integrity, adaptability, and a team-oriented mindset
- Frequent standing, stooping, climbing, and repetitive motion.
- Regular lifting and moving of up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Use of ladders, manual handling equipment, and exposure to workplace chemicals.
- Visual requirements include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
