About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Mechanic to join our growing maintenance team. We have a fleet of 28 heavy duty trucks and 21 trailers and are in the process of becoming a CVIP facility (for our own fleet only). Based out of Red Deer shop, we offer 10 hour days on a rotation of 8 days on / 6 days off, with overtime as required. The ideal candidate would comfortable working in a shop environment where equipment uptime is critical.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and trailers

- Perform preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs to minimize downtime

- Perform CVIP inspections

- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship

- Identify and report equipment deficiencies and required repairs

- Accurately complete work orders, inspection forms, and maintenance documentation

- Support shop operations in a fast-paced, oilfield environment

- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

- Collaborate with Operations, Safety, and Dispatch teams as required

Qualifications & Experience

- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification required

- Minimum 2–3 years of experience working on heavy duty trucks and trailers

- Valid Class 5 licence with clean abstract (Class 1 or 3 would be considered an asset)

- CVIP inspection licence or willingness to obtain

- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced oilfield shop environment

- Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety

- Strong working knowledge of TDG regulations

- Willingness to work extended hours during the winter season

- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
