Commercial Solar – Crew Lead Installer

Renewable Energy Partners (REP) is seeking a Crew Lead Solar Installer to join our growing commercial solar installation team. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership and field installation experience who is ready to build high-quality solar projects from pre-install to completion. The Lead Installer will work closely with REP’s Master Electrician, project managers and other REP staff to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to design specification.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Supervise jobsite crews during rooftop and ground-mounted solar installations
•Coordinate crane logistics, rigging, and delivery schedules for large commercial systems
•Verify and execute system layouts based on Helioscope, CAD, or drone-based imagery
•Assign daily tasks to team members and subcontractors on active jobsites
•Communicate with project managers to address installation adjustments and site changes
•Ensure proper racking, modules, wiring, and inverter placement according to plan
•Oversee documentation, follow-up photos, and site reports using mobile/cloud platforms
•Maintain OSHA safety standards and REP safety protocols with daily tailgate meetings
•Assist with inspection scheduling and coordination of testing and commissioning
•Represent REP professionally with clients, property owners, and permitting officials
Skills and Qualifications
•3+ years of hands-on solar installation experience; 1+ year in a lead role
•Proven ability to manage and direct field crews independently
•Familiarity with crane operations, rigging, and lift day planning
•Skilled in reading and applying layout plans and engineering drawings
•Experience with mobile document platforms (e.g., Dropbox, Site Capture, Raptor Maps)
•Valid Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation
•OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to complete within 30 days)
•Comfortable working at heights with proper fall protection
•Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Consideration (Not Required)
•Experience with 100-1,000 kilowatt commercial installations
•Drone operation or layout verification using aerial imagery
•Forklift, telehandler, or NCCCO signal certification
•Electrical or general contractor license

Pay: $32.76 - $39.45 per hour
