Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, you will be part of the Underground Mine Operations Department. You will be responsible for operating jumbo drilling equipment in underground mining operations to ensure efficient and safe drilling processes. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Operate underground jumbo drill rigs to perform development drilling;
- Ensure drill holes are accurately aligned with mine plans and specifications;
- Perform regular inspections to ensure functionality and safety of equipment and mining areas;
- Follow all company safety protocols and mining regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members;
- Work closely with the mine supervisor and other team members to ensure efficient operations;
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management;
- Maintain clear and accurate records of drilling operations, equipment usage, and maintenance activities;
- Efficiently operate underground 2 boom electric hydraulic jumbo drill rigs;
- Effectively lead a development crew to achieve safety and production targets;
- Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures and report any Safety hazards, concerns or incidents;
- Minimum of 4000 hours operating jumbo drills in an underground mining environment;
- Strong understanding of underground mining safety standards and practices;
- Ability to read and interpret mine plans and drilling specifications;
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment;
- Ability to drive drift, inclines, declines in accordance to driving layouts and company standards;
- Ability to safely perform all duties required of a development miner such as install ground support, services, mucking and trucking as required;
- Strong understanding and commitment to safety regulations policies and adherence to standard operating procedures;
- Must have down ramp development experience in a cycle environment;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine Site.
In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
