Responsible for the facilitation, coordination and inspection of production related capital and maintenance construction projects both inside and outside of the power plant to assure quality control and project completion consistent with construction schedules, engineering specifications, QAQC requirements and contract documentation. Monitors contractor activities to help assure compliance to all related safety regulations and practices.
- Works with engineers, Project Managers and others in the project development stage to assist and to gain understanding of scope, equipment/material requirements, inventories, schedules, contracts, etc.
- Monitors, reviews and reports work progress and expenditures. Compares results to the schedule, work plan and budget.
- Monitors, provides oversight or performs testing and verifications required for equipment installations, facilities construction, mechanical/civil/electrical installations, site grading, proof roll, compaction, geosynthetic liner installation, materials, concrete work, paving, painting, structures, equipment, piping, welding procedures, wiring, etc. to assure compliance to all applicable standards and contract requirements.
- Investigates and evaluates damage and claims with regard to construction.
- Monitors, tests/verifies throughout the construction projects to assure proper construction standards, dimensions, quantities, proper operational standards, and proper safety standards are consistently met by contractors/construction crews.
- Works with Engineering to monitor contract compliance, document and approve change orders, billings, documents, and implements design modifications or construction corrections, etc.
- Verifies billable pay quantities for work completed by contractor.
- Facilitates the flow of documentation and information between EKPC Production Engineering and contractors/construction crews.
- Performs intermediate and final inspections of all assigned projects to assure contractual and operational compliance.
- Completes and provides all required project documentation including FWD's, change orders, schedules, safety reports, inventories, contractor billing documentation, "as built" drawings, etc.
- Assures timely completion of assigned projects.
- Submits Construction Safety Inspection Reports as required.
- Submits project update reports as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Engineering technical degree or Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- Working knowledge (or the ability to quickly develop) of applicable specifications and standards as they relate to construction, such as EKPC construction specifications, OSHA, ACI, ASME, ASTM, NEC, NESC, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications and construction contract documents.
- Basic project management skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate accordingly.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, computer skills with basic office software.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively work with a wide variety of internal and external contacts (including the public).
- Strong (or the ability to quickly develop) working knowledge of EKPC safety guidelines and procedures.

- Working conditions include but are not limited to regular dust, dirt, extreme temperature, and occasional working on slippery or unstable surfaces. Regular lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent travel within the system and occasional out-of-state, which may be overnight.
