The Industrial Valve Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, repair, installation, and maintenance of industrial valves used in processing, refining, manufacturing, and energy facilities.
- Perform inspection, troubleshooting, and repair on a variety of industrial valves, including gate, globe, check, pressure relief valves (PRVs), and safety valves.
- Disassemble valves and assess components for wear, defects, and calibration requirements.
- Install, remove, and service valves in field and shop environments.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, P&IDs, and manufacturer specifications.
- Document all work performed, including test results, parts used, and recommended actions.
- Disassembly, repair and reassembly of pressure seal, butterfly, ball control and valves in both shop and field.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in clean and safe condition.
- Communicate job status, issues, and recommendations to supervisors, customers, or engineering teams.
- Support emergency call-outs and after-hours work as needed.
- 3 plus years of experience in industrial valve repair, maintenance, or related mechanical field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.
- Capable of rigging in an industrial environment.
- Ability to perform blue checking on various valves.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments (refineries, chemical plants, power plants, etc.) both in shop and field.
-Familiar with various gaskets, packing and torquing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Experience with disassembly and repair of control valves.
- Field service experience in power generation, refining, or manufacturing sectors.
