The Recruiter is responsible for acquiring talent. They are responsible for sourcing, screening, scheduling and facilitating meaningful interviews, ensuring candidates are a good fit for the company. In addition, they will be expected to follow up with newly hired employees to ensure optimal onboarding and retention. The Recruiter will collaborate with hiring managers on a regular basis and proactively identify and act on hiring needs in real time. Attract candidates using various sources, like Indeed recruitment website, organizations, social media networks and employee referrals.
The responsibilities of the Recruiter are to ensure the company attracts, hires and retains the best employees for its Pennsylvania and Ohio region.
· Design and implement an overall robust recruitment strategy
· Develop, standardize and update job descriptions and job specifications
· Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives
· Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board / newspapers / colleges etc
· Determine and implement creative strategies to recruit candidates outside of the online job boards
· Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media etc.
· Screen candidates resumes and job applications for multiple locations
· Conduct pre-screening interviews to filter best candidates
· Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes
o Create and adapt critical interview questions to strategically reveal candidates’ dispositions and behaviors.
· Work with the HR Generalist to set up pre-employment physical/essential functions exam, criminal background check, and drug screening
· Onboard new employees to fully integrate in the Metalico culture.
o Use PowerPoint presentation to highlight important HR and Company information
· Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
o Retention - Set a structured follow up plan with new hires post 30 / 60 / 90 days
· Understand and abide by DOT hiring requirements per DOT laws / regulations
· Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the management team on a weekly basis
· Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
· Promote company’s reputation as “best place to work”
· Schedule a quarterly meeting with management to understand current staffing needs
· Must have at least 2 years of full-cycle recruiting experience
· Proven work experience as an in-house Recruiter while initially limiting and ultimately eliminate the usage of external staffing agencies
· Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency-based, etc)
· Hands on experience with various selection processes (video interviewing, phone interviewing, reference check etc)
· Understand how to independently source quickly and creatively
· Ability to create and maintain an Applicant Tracking System
· Hands-on experience with recruiting websites, staffing agencies, etc.
· At least 3 years handling all phases of recruitment/hiring processes.
