Job Summary We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic Helper to assist our maintenance team in servicing and repairing a variety of heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and other machinery. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and eager to learn from experienced technicians.
- Perform and assist on routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, haul truck and other mining equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using OEM schematics and automotive diagnostics.
- Conduct repairs on tracks, swapping pins and bushings, and other maintenance required.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, to perform small repairs/maintenance on Heavy Equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of service performed on equipment and machinery.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while providing excellent customer service.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating heavy machinery and performing maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment as needed.
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for effective diagnostics.
- Experience with various types of industrial equipment including tractor-trailers.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in maintenance tasks.
- Capable of performing heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
