Amperesand is reinventing the electric grid with modular, silicon‑carbide solid‑state transformers (SSTs) that deliver efficient, intelligent, and resilient multi‑megawatt power conversion for EV fast‑charging, data centers, and renewable‑energy infrastructure.
Spun out of Nanyang Technological University in 2023 and backed by Xora Innovation, Material Impact, TDK Ventures, and others, we are preparing to ship the world’s first 22 kV, 6 MW SST systems in 2025 .
To sustain our rapid North‑American build‑out, we are hiring our first Head of People. This leader will own everything related to talent and culture across the U.S. and Singapore operations, partnering directly with the CEO and executive team to scale a mission‑driven workforce safely, compliantly, and inclusively.
Craft a people roadmap that aligns headcount, capabilities, and culture with Amperesand’s commercial milestones.
Design and continuously improve recruiting, performance, compensation, equity, and learning frameworks that can scale from ~40 employees today to several hundred.
Embed our values of innovation, safety, and sustainability into day‑to‑day rituals, driving high eNPS, and low regrettable attrition.
Interpret and apply federal, California, Nevada, and local employment laws; oversee employee‑relations investigations and craft policies that stand up to regulatory scrutiny.
Serve as coach and thought‑partner to the leadership team and to functional heads on organizational design, succession, and change management.
Oversee payroll, benefits, HRIS selection, equity administration, and cross‑border mobility (U.S. ↔ Singapore).
Recruit, mentor, and inspire a small but mighty HR/Talent squad, setting clear OKR's, and fostering professional growth.
Previously held the
Head of People/VP of HR
role at a venture‑backed startup, ideally scaling from Series A/B to triple‑digit headcount
Deep, hands‑on knowledge of wage‑and‑hour, leave, EEO, OSHA, immigration, and multi‑state requirements, with special fluency in California regulations
Already eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available
