Summary

Operates truck with capacity of more than three tons, to transport and dump materials such as soil, sand, gravel, crushed rock materials (earth materials).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Operate the haul truck to transport rock products to the plant and stockpiles as directed.

· Utilize equipment in a manner to maximize productivity and minimize wear and down time.

- Operate other mobile plant equipment as needed (ie. Water Truck, etc)

- Work in all areas of the plant as needed

- Report mechanical or maintenance issues with equipment.

- Perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions.

- Adhere to all PBA and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Requirements:

- Ability to perform inspections and safely use equipment.

- Ability to detect malfunctioning equipment and respond accordingly.

- 2 years prior haul truck (or other large mobile equipment) experience preferred

- Strong communication skills.

- Ability to work efficiently in a high stress, fast paced environment.

- Ability to recognize safety hazards in the workplace and correct them. Conform to all MSHA regulations.

- Ability to work independently and with others.

- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

- Strong reading and comprehension skills; ability to read and comprehend manuals

· Organized with attention to detail.

- Possess basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, two-digit numbers and units of measurement.

- Valid driver’s license.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma preferred; two-three years relevant experience.

Safety Considerations:

· Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

· Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such extreme dirt, dust, smoke, and/or loud noises.

· Wears all required personal protective equipment on daily basis.

· Lift 75 /- pounds

· Attend and participate in required trainings as necessary and as required by MSHA.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
