Glass department lead position

We’re looking for a Glass Line Lead to oversee daily operations in our Glass Department. This role is critical in ensuring safe handling, accurate processing, and high-quality output of glass for our window wall and curtain wall systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily glass line activities, including cutting, tempering and heat soaking,

- Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings to ensure accuracy.

- Inspect glass for defects (scratches, chips, tempering defects) and take corrective action.

- Ensure proper machine setup and operation (tempering, cutting, and handling equipment).

- Monitor and enforce safety standards and procedures.

- Train, guide, and support glass line operators and new staff.

- Maintain production records and ensure paperwork is completed accurately.

- Communicate material shortages, tool issues, or equipment breakdowns to supervisors and maintenance.

- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.

- Lead efforts in quality control, scrap management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- Experience in glass fabrication or related manufacturing.

- Knowledge of glass processing (cutting, tempering, handling, lamination).

- Strong leadership and communication skills.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

- Commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
