Overview
This position controls and coordinates internal and external generation and wholesale assets to manage resource to load balance within industry criteria, requirements, regulations and compliance measures. This position takes actions to maintain real time operational compliance including compliance with current NERC reliability standards. This position is responsible for economically dispatching assets and works with energy trading to maximize off system transactions. This position directs and controls generation in real time, coordinates unit commitment and provides direction to plant personnel for real time, forward and emergency operations associated with generation dispatch functions within reliability, safety and environmental regulations. This position provides the Reliability Coordinator and Balancing Authority /Transmission Operator with required information and responds to reliability directives in a timely manner. This position performs real time and day ahead load forecasting, data validation and required reporting processes under guidance of senior staff members.
