To plan, lead, and control the site operations as established in procedures and guidelines set by the company in the areas of: people, equipment, material and environmental safety, cost performance, asset utilization, customer product and service delivery

As the General Manager – Sales & Commercial Operations, you will provide overall leadership for the Newfoundland and Labrador region, with accountability for business performance across safety, people, customers, operations, and financial results. You will lead a complex regional business and ensure the successful execution of strategic, commercial, and operational priorities while reinforcing Dyno Nobel’s commitment to Zero Harm and operational excellence. Other duties will include:
- Lead the region in alignment with Dyno Nobel’s core priorities of Zero Harm, People, Customers, Efficiency, and Results
- Develop and execute regional business strategies to support long-term growth, profitability, and operational performance
- Manage full regional P&L accountability, using financial reporting, metrics, and business insights to drive strong results
- Ensure delivery of high-quality service and customer satisfaction across all applicable industry segments
- Strengthen and expand customer relationships within the region while identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance
- Partner with internal stakeholders including Sales, HR, Product Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and DynoConsult to deliver business goals
- Lead and support regional site operations to ensure strong performance in safety, quality, efficiency, service delivery, and asset utilization
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support cost reduction, operational effectiveness, and customer profitability
- Maintain compliance with applicable company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements in the areas of safety, environment, quality, training, and operations
- Ensure changes affecting people, processes, equipment, or engineering are managed through appropriate Management of Change processes
- Provide visible leadership in support of Dyno Nobel’s Zero Harm culture and commitment that all incidents are preventable
- Travel regularly throughout the region to engage with sites and teams, maintain alignment, and support business performance
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team across the region
- Support talent assessment, succession planning, employee development, and performance management
- Drive commitment to Dyno Nobel’s talent processes through coaching, development planning, and mitigation of people risks

- Lead the business in accordance with established procedures and guidelines related to people, materials, assets, equipment, safety, and environmental performance
- Monitor and manage industrial relations matters to support a cooperative and productive workforce
- Identify, recommend, and implement initiatives that improve regional business performance
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of some educational requirements
- Minimum 10 years of management experience, including at least 5 years at a regional or senior leadership level within a mining related industry
- Proven experience leading both sales and site operations in a regional management or senior executive capacity
- Strong business and financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and driving profitability
- Demonstrated ability to develop site and regional operating plans and execute them effectively
- Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, development, performance management, and team building
- Experience with safety, environmental, quality, maintenance, and training systems
- Strong understanding of and commitment to compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards
- Proven experience and understanding of logistical challenges and operations
- Experience with manufacturing of emulsion matrix, bulk truck delivery, and on-bench blasting operations considered a strong asset
- Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex matrix environment
- Candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to the region
