Position Overview

We are seeking a general laborer/production helper to join our growing fabrication shop. This role is essential to keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently. You'll support a variety of shop activities, from material handling and equipment setup to cleaning, prepping, and assisting skilled tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with general shop duties including material handling, loading/unloading, and staging materials for fabrication.

- Support welders, painters, and fabricators by prepping materials, grinding, cutting, and cleaning parts.

- Use basic hand and power tools such as grinders, saws, drills, and measuring tools.

- Maintain clean and organized work areas, including sweeping, disposing of scrap, and basic shop maintenance.

- Perform quality checks on finished and semi-finished parts to ensure accuracy and cleanliness.

- Follow all safety protocols, wear proper PPE, and report unsafe conditions.

- Learn and grow into more advanced shop roles with guidance and on-the-job training.

Qualifications Required:

- Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment is a plus, but not required.

- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a physically active environment.

- Willingness to learn, take direction, and work as part of a team.

- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and dependability are essential.

- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.

Preferred:

- Familiarity with metalworking or industrial shop tools (grinders, saws, measuring tape, etc.).

- Forklift experience or certification is a plus.

- Interest in growing into welding, sandblasting, painting, or fabrication roles.
