A manufacturing general laborer performs manual tasks to support production, including operating machinery, assembling parts, packing goods, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. They are responsible for lifting heavy materials, following production schedules, and adhering to strict safety protocols. Key requirements include physical stamina (standing for 8-12 hours, lifting 40-50+ lbs.), attention to detail, and teamwork.
- Production Support: Assemble, cut, fasten, or pack products on assembly lines.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and move raw materials or finished goods using pallet jacks or by hand.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished goods for defects and sort, tag, or label inventory.
- Maintenance & Safety: Clean work areas, machinery, and tools to maintain a safe environment.
- Operational Assistance: Assist machine operators and skilled tradespeople with tasks as directed.
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing or warehousing is often preferred, but not always required.
- Skills: Basic math skills and ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
- Safety Focus: Strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Availability: Willingness to work some overtime, or occasional weekends.
