Gas Well & Power Generation Operator

Location: Stony Plain, Alberta Company: Morning Star Petroleum Inc.

Position Overview:

Morning Star Petroleum Inc. is seeking a reliable, hands-on Gas Well & Power Generation Operator to manage daily operations at our Stony Plain site. This role involves operating and maintaining a producing gas well and on-site natural gas generator used for continuous power generation.

This is a field-based position requiring mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Daily operation and monitoring of gas well production equipment

- Operate and maintain natural gas generators (startup, shutdown, load management)

- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor repairs

- Monitor pressures, flows, and production data

- Ensure safe and efficient operation of all equipment

- Coordinate maintenance and report operational issues

- Maintain site cleanliness and environmental compliance

- Respond to call-outs as required

- Qualifications:

- Experience in oil & gas field operations (production, wellsite, or compression preferred)

Assets (Not Mandatory):

- First Aid / H2S Alive

- Power Engineering or related certification

- Experience with SCADA systems

- Experience with natural gas generators or power generation systems is a strong asset

- Mechanical aptitude and basic electrical understanding

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

- Strong safety mindset

Job Type: Contract

Contract length: 24 months

Pay: $55.00-$75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 8 per week
