Position Summary
A career in GIS will provide the opportunity to map existing utilities for land development, asset management and utility projects. This typically includes generating a variety of GIS products and performing data searches and retrievals. Additionally, this includes assisting in the design, development, testing and implementation of GIS applications to meet customer needs and enterprise requirements; developing and maintaining GIS databases; and keeping track of utility information received from various sources and perform data conversion from field survey and record documents.
Roles within GIS are responsible for compliance, standards, training, reporting for regulatory requirements, operating procedures management, and rules and procedures that the organization, as well as all employees, must comply with. Records management teams are also responsible for housing all physical measurement copies that outline pipes and infrastructure so field services can locate appropriate infrastructure when needed.
Essential Functions:
- Supervising a team of GIS professionals for Natural Gas Utility
- Prioritizing and assigning technical resources ensuring tasks are completed and team and project goals and objectives are met.
- Ensures integrity and quality of GIS and Records
- Perform and or assigning tasks to team within the ESRI ArcGIS Pro environment that support day-to-day activities and project goals.
- Following appropriate platform and/or industry methods
- Coordinating with other supervisors and teams to promote and improve GIS functionality.
- Recommending GIS-based alternatives, examining new methods and techniques, and possibly proactively seeking out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems
- Focus on leveraging technology.
- Representative/spokesperson at internal and external meetings/functions. Coaching and development of team members on task skills proficiency and performance.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience,
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- In addition, a minimum of 1 year team lead/coaching experience.
- Experience with Arc Map 10.x or Arc GIS Pro
- Organizational skills and time management
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Python, SQL, or Arcade programming skills
- Familiarity with AutoDesk Suite
- GPS field work or surveying experience
- Preferred degrees in GIS, Geography, Environmental Planning, Geospatial technology, Computer programming, and technologies

We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
