Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.
Foran Mining is a modern mining development and exploration company advancing Canada's only greenfield copper project currently under construction: the McIlvenna Bay deposit in Saskatchewan. As part of the Fixed Maintenance Team, this Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for managing and optimizing the maintenance of fixed plant equipment and infrastructure at the mine site. This role involves supervising a team of maintenance technicians (Millwrights), planning maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Develop maintenance plans and schedules with the Fixed Maintenance GF.
- Prioritize tasks based on equipment criticality and production needs.
- Lead and supervise maintenance technicians; provide coaching and feedback.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
- Inspect fixed plant equipment for maintenance needs or defects.
- Monitor equipment performance and take corrective action as needed.
- Coordinate and oversee repairs, overhauls, and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant completion of maintenance work.
- Allocate labor, materials, and tools for maintenance activities.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate procurement of parts and supplies.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance, equipment performance, and downtime.
- Provide regular maintenance reports and updates to management.
- Investigate equipment failures; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify training needs and facilitate team development.
- Support emergency response efforts related to equipment breakdowns.
- Red Seal mechanical ticket or a combination of education in a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fixed plant maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Familiarity with mining regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Computer proficiency for maintenance planning and reporting.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in an industrial environment.
We offer a competitive starting salary of $115,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
