From entry-level to experienced, operates precision grinding machines to assemble products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications consistent with job specifications and quality standards.
- · Report to work on time for your shift
- · Contact your supervisor about any unexpected absences with as much notice as possible
- · If receiving a paid holiday, work a full shift the day before
- · Wear all personal protective equipment that has been provided to you
- · Immediately report any accidents to your immediate supervisor and fill out the proper paperwork
- · Wear a seat belt at all times when operating the forklifts – an OSHA requirement
- · Properly maintain any equipment as you have been instructed and keep the records (if any) updated
- · Set up and operate any equipment needed properly and safely using work instructions
- · Double-check the Traveler to review any special instructions
- · Get a first-piece inspection
- · Comply with safety procedures and company policies
- · Clock all operations accurately and report any errors as soon as possible
- · Ensure you have counted and recorded the number of good parts you completed, and put your initials beside the count on the Traveler before moving them to the next operation
- · Report any shortages of parts or material to your supervisor or a Sales team member.
- · Report any deviations/bad parts/lost material using the computer system
- Ability to read blueprints, perform basic shop math, and use measuring instruments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous grinding/finishing experience a plus, but not required (on-the-job training provided).
- Some heavy lifting – maximum of 50 pounds, if more you must do two-man lifting Repetitive Motion
- Standing position
- Standard shop environment
Responsibility for equipment, others, and any hazards:
- · Responsible for machine safety and operation using grinders/sanders, tumbler, or timesaver
- · Responsible for correct storage of equipment and supplies
- · Responsible for personal safety and that of others in your workspace
