The Controller is an essential part of this company. We need an individual to support our Company with an entrepreneurial mindset with varying week-to-week responsibilities. This role is part time responsible for the organization’s accounting operations including financial reporting, supporting tax and audit requirements, ensures compliance with Federal, State and Local reporting and tax obligations, establishes and maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and transactional processing operations. The Controller is responsible for supporting cash management strategies, strategic operational initiatives, and monitoring project profitability reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
· Prepare, close, review and issue timely and complete financial statements
· Ensure accounts payable are documented and paid in a timely manner.
· Ensure invoices and accounts receivable are issued and collected timely.
· Review and implement appropriate termscredit applications for both AP and AR
· Prepare and complete bank and credit card reconciliations monthly
· Monitor cash flow and provide cash management planning support
· Maintain the chart of accounts, orderly accounting filing and related documentation
· Provide job costing, percentage of completion analysis and job profitability reporting and analysis
· Support and cross train with Human Resources on health and welfare benefits, 401k, payroll administration including review and compliance
· Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal and tax responsibilities
· Ensure compliance and complete annual 1099 reporting and filing
· Coordinate audit, tax and insurance reporting activities with outside advisors
· Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors as required
· Support Chroma’s Strategic Partnership team that is focused on identifying potential solar, battery storage, and microgrid project and partnership opportunities.
· 8+ years of experience in a Senior Accounting Manager or Controller role.
· BSc/BA in Accounting or Finance or 15+ years of equivalent experience with job costing
· Experience with multi-state employees and job site reporting and compliance
· Comfortable engaging with executives, engineers, financial stakeholders, and technical teams.
· Experience in the Renewable Energy/Solar or the Construction industry a plus.
