Job Summary:

we’re looking for a detail-oriented Controller with construction industry experience—ideally in solar—to help us maintain accurate financial records and support our day-to-day operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Own all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management

- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with accuracy and timeliness

- Implement internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures from the ground up

- Process invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments

- Handle bank reconciliations and credit card transactions

- Manage payroll processing for the company

- Track job costs and construction project budgets

- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate billing and cost tracking

- Partner with executive leadership to support business decisions with sound financial analysis

- Recruit, train, and mentor future accounting and finance staff as the company scales

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

- 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in both hands-on roles and leadership positions.

- Experience with solar installation companies strongly preferred

- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel

- Familiarity with construction-specific accounting practices, including job costing and progress billing

- Experience building and scaling accounting functions at a growing company.

Job Location: This job requires you to be in our Hayward office everyday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
