Job Description:

A Field Service Representative serves as a highly versatile, multidisciplinary, technical representative that deals with customer service assignments on Solar gas turbine packages in the service area of the Chicago District. This includes but is not limited to on-site preventative maintenance, inspections, response to trouble calls, major component exchanges, and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Work independently and in a diverse team environment

- Accurate and timely submission of all necessary paperwork following the completion of jobs

- Professional communication skills

- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

- Understand and comply with Solar and customer safety policies and procedures

- Understand and apply engineering specifications when applicable

- Read and use applicable drawings, ladder logic, and technical manuals

- Utilize a wide range of online resources, tools and software

- Travel across the district territory to provide service to customers

The chosen candidate must live anywhere within Iowa.

Minimum Qualifications :

- High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent

- Willing to learn and develop new skills

- Minimal computational skills i.e. Microsoft O365 Suite

- Mechanical/Electrical skill set including use of diagnostic, measuring and hand tools

- Willing to travel domestically greater than 50% of the time

- Clean Driving Record (includes no moving violations within the last 12 months, no "2 point" violations within the last 3 years, and no DUIs within the last 7 years)

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working on turbomachinery or related industry

- Ability to use a multi-disciplinary approach and sound technical judgment to solve complex technical problems

- Knowledge of gas turbine theory and operational practices, gas compressor theory, and generator basic principles

- Basic understanding of control system logic; ability to program and perform troubleshooting on PLC systems

- Aviation Airframe and Powerplant experience

- Technical Certification (e.g. Degree, A&P, Maritime, UTI, MMI, trade school)

Summary Pay Range:

$58,579.00 - $87,869.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
