The Field Safety Representative supports civil and utility construction operations by providing field-level safety oversight, hazard recognition, and incident prevention support. This role works directly with field crews and supervisors to promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies, PG&E requirements, and OSHA/CAL-OSHA regulations.
- Conduct jobsite safety observations and hazard assessments.
- Support field crews through coaching, hazard recognition, and safety guidance.
- Lead or participate in tailboard briefings, toolbox talks, and safety stand-downs.
- Identify high-energy hazards and potential serious injury or fatality exposures.
- Monitor compliance with company safety programs, PG&E requirements, and OSHA/CAL-OSHA standards.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain documentation of safety observations, incident reports, and corrective actions.
- Serve as a safety resource for field operations and assist with regulatory compliance.
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience, preferably in civil or utility construction.
- Knowledge of OSHA and CAL-OSHA safety regulations.
- Experience with incident investigation and hazard mitigation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with field crews and supervisors.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Safety certifications such as CUSP, CHST, or equivalent.
- Experience working on PG&E or similar utility construction projects.
