The Fleet operator position is responsible for all kind of activities related with operating oil and products time chartered tanker vessels of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Fleet Operator will be primarily responsible for:
- Monitoring compliance with Time Charter policies as disponent owners, tracking vessels during the contract, bunker consumption, speeds and charter party agreements with third parties.
- Communicating with vessel's Masters, charterers, brokers and shipping agents,
- Issuing voyage instructions to Masters,
- Optimization of voyages in terms of time and cost by adjusting speeds and minimizing consumption.
- Checking and preparing tank conditions prior to loading (product changes, tank conditioning, cleaning
- Appointing shipping agencies for each port call negotiating rates for port services,
- Updating management system with timings, costs and bunker estimations.
- Coordinating with charterers, trading, schedulers, for optimizing each voyage.
- Coordinating bunker purchases taking into account security bunker margins of each vessel, miles between ports, bunker consumption and costs, optimizing each operation.
- Calculating and paying / invoicing owners hires, port expenses, freights, other costs like deviations, shiftings, etc. supervision and validation of disbursement account process.
Required Qualifications: In order to perform the accountabilities of this position, candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Naval engineering, Maritime Law, economics, business or in the marine field.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Broad knowledge of vessel operations and shipping
- Strong negotiation skills with very high level of detail orientation and self-motivation.
- Ability to work at fast-pace in a dynamic trading environment with time-sensitive, business critical activities requiring 24/7 responsiveness, strong planning and organizational skills and attention to details.
- The willingness and ability to be a team player and willing to adapt easily to different scenarios.
Preferred Qualifications In addition to the above requirement candidates may be able to demonstrate:
- Knowledge of Spanish language
- Knowledge in Trading and the Oil industry.
- Knowledge of Vesson or other similar fleet management system will be preferred
- Knowledge of LNG vessels operations.
