Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements, MD&A, and management reporting packages.
- Analyze consolidated trial balances; prepare variance explanations for the VP Finance, CFO, and audit committee.
- Perform account analysis, including intercompany eliminations and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly working papers and schedules for selected accounts.
- Act as liaison during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Manage the internal control program in coordination with the Company’s external consultants.
- Conduct IFRS accounting research for new standards and ad hoc issues.
- Enhance quarterly and monthly reporting packages using WDesk (Workiva) and Prophix.
- Support system selection, implementation, and optimization projects.
- Assist CFO and VP Finance with special projects, including purchase price allocations and process improvement initiatives.
- Create efficiencies in month-end and quarter-end processes through automation and best practices.
Technical Skills
- CPA designation.
- 3–5 years post-designation experience in public financial reporting.
- Experience with Microsoft Great Plains, WDesk, Prophix, or similar systems.
- Oil and gas industry experience (especially oilfield services) is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive.
