We, at LCRA, are looking for a motivated and responsible individual to join our Environmental Affairs team! As a part of LCRA’s Environmental team, your skills and experience in managing hazardous waste, environmental testing, and construction or stormwater compliance, will provide imperative environmental support in the planning and execution of utility infrastructure projects in Texas. You Will Be Trusted To
- Assist with environmental inspections of facilities, equipment and natural conditions to ensure regulatory compliance and to identify actual and potential environmental issues.
- Conduct construction stormwater inspections, coordinating on site compliance with construction staff and contractors
- Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various, sometimes remote locations (substations, transmission line rights-of-way, power plants, water systems, etc.) as scheduled.
- Assist with collection of environmental data and physical samples.
- Respond to environmental emergencies, on-site remediation, and spill clean up
- Document inspection, collection, sample management and waste removal activities and findings through appropriate communications and record keeping practices. Documents work into logs, files and other records and through communications, both verbal and written, with other team members and supervisors.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds in moving boxes, equipment and waste materials
- One or more years of experience in environmental inspection, collection, sample management, waste management, recordkeeping or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in environmental science, chemistry or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver's license
- Experience with field work involving stormwater compliance, emergency spill response, construction, or hazardous waste management.
